Creating Sustainable Change Through Strategic Interventions Across Northern Nigeria
PROJECT 1: EDUCATION & LITERACY FOR THE GIRL-CHILD
Education is the foundation for breaking cycles of poverty and empowering girls to reach their full potential. Through this programme, we work to ensure that every girl in Northern Nigeria has access to quality education and a safe learning environment.
Our Goal
To advocate for quality education, and provide learning equipment towards a conducive learning environment in 30 communities of 4 states in Northern Nigeria, targeting 5,000 girls by 2025.
Key Objectives
- Research, document and advocate for the provision of quality equipment and training of teachers for improved learning
- Provide 1,000 desks, 2,000 writing and reading materials to schools
- Pay bursary for 250 vulnerable girls in 10 communities
- Track education budget implementation of 4 states and the federal government
PROJECT 2: SAPPHIRE ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME
Economic independence is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and giving women the power to make their own decisions. Through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship training, and start-up capital provision, we empower women and girls to become self-reliant and contribute to their communities’ economic development.
Our Goal
To contribute towards the eradication of poverty and extreme hunger by providing empowerment for the most disadvantaged groups in society.
Key Objectives
- Empower 2,000 girls and women with skills in soap making, bead making, sewing, etc. for self-reliance in 4 states by 2025
- Hold 6 seminars in 4 states on financial independence for 600 women by 2025
- Provide take-off grants for 300 women in cash or kind in 4 states by 2025
- Educate women and girls through town hall meetings on available government interventions targeted for them
PROJECT 3: HEALTH & NUTRITION FOR RURAL COMMUNITIES
Health is wealth, and access to proper sanitation facilities is a fundamental human right. Through this programme, we address critical health and hygiene challenges that disproportionately affect girls and women in Northern Nigeria, particularly the lack of adequate toilet facilities in schools.
Our Goal
To ensure good health and wellbeing for the vulnerable in 4 states by 2025, with a specific focus on reducing girl-child dropout rates due to inadequate sanitation facilities.
Key Objectives
- Advocate for better health facilities in schools
- Provide modern toilet facilities in schools and communities
- Ensure availability of water in school toilets
- Sensitize women and girls on Vesico-Vaginal Fistula (VVF) prevention and treatment
- Monitor school feeding programmes to ensure nutrition components
PROJECT 4: WOMEN INCLUSION IN POLITICS
Political participation is essential for women to influence policies that affect their lives. Through this programme, we advocate for gender equality, women’s political inclusion, and the enforcement of affirmative action policies to ensure women have a voice in governance and decision-making.
Our Goal
To advocate for equality of vulnerable groups and ensure gender equality in all government and public activities.
Key Objectives
- Advocate for equality for vulnerable groups through visits to relevant stakeholders in 4 states by 2025

Story Of Transformation
Volunteering with SIGCLE opened my eyes to the challenges our sisters face. Every time I see a girl stay in school because of our intervention, I'm reminded why this work matters. Change is happening, one girl at a time."
